Help ,,, FTP ?!!!!

i was wondring recently why am losing colors after uploading photos here at DA .. i noticed that the photos is not the same colors after i upload them here ,,,
i realized that maybe if i upload them by FTP software it will be much better !!
but i couldn't ... i was trying to login to the deviantart server by many FTP softwares like cuteftp and classic FTP .. from my Mac ... i couldn't !!! i dun really dont know why !!!
then i tried Windows to login to the DA server but its not working too !!!
dose anyone know something about uploading the photos by FTP ???

update : i 've just realized wats goin on .. i sloved the probem somehow !!! the problem was in my Mac's display setting .. i just chang it into sRGB profile ,, then everything is ok now :D
